The Epiphany
At the cliff’s edge, Akshay stopped. The valley below was engulfed in a gentle, ethereal white blanket as the renowned Lakkidi mist started to sweep in. Wrapping his hands around the paper cup for warmth, he ordered a delicious, steaming tea from a roadside stall while the cool breeze caressed his face.
He peered up at a rough, unspoiled ridge that rose just above the vantage point, where the ground and sky meet.
The thought hit him like a bolt of lightning at that very instant. A coffee shop. This is it. at the top of the globe.
It would be more than just a spot to have a drink; it would be a haven where people could enter a beautiful, caffeinated utopia and escape the hectic outside world. Brewtopia was the term that immediately sprang to me, emerging organically from the mist.
Building the BREWTOPIA
For a twenty-eight-year-old with no prior construction experience, transforming an untamed, windswept hilltop into a functional cafe was a frustrating undertaking. Everyone informed him that carrying supplies up that high incline was not feasible. But the vision had taken over Akshay. The Struggle: He lived in a little tent on the spot for several months. In order to reflect the Western Ghats' natural aesthetic, he bargained with regional craftspeople, removed wild brush, and carefully used recycled wood. The cafe's design features enormous glass walls. He wanted guests to experience Wayanad's unadulterated splendour as if they were sitting inside the clouds.
The View from the Top
Brewtopia opened its doors a year later. Today, you can find Akshay standing behind a modern espresso bar, skilfully drawing shots of Wayanad coffee from a single origin, if you trek up the path past the Lakkidi mist. The smell of moist ground and mountain air melds flawlessly with the aroma of dark roast. Travellers realise Akshay did more than simply create a coffee shop when they sit on the wooden deck with a warm mug in hand and watch the fog gently flow across the flooring. He constructed a bridge to the heavens.
NAME TO FAME
The Founder’s Vision (Akshay’s Philosophy)
“Brewtopia was built not just to offer coffee on a hilltop but also to provide your spirit a place to unwind above the sky.
OUR MISSIONS
To transform the everyday coffee habit into an experience of pure, cloud-kissed tranquillity by acting as a high-altitude sanctuary where the unadulterated beauty of Wayanad meets the art of the perfect roast.
OUR VISIONS
To become South India’s ultimate mountain refuge, where coffee serves as a doorway to contemplative peace and the distinction between earth and sky becomes hazy.
OUR GOALS
On the hilltop, leave no trace: Use eco-friendly packaging and stringent waste management to make sure the cafe’s impact never detracts from the Lakkidi Ridge’s unspoiled beauty.
